How to Dye Pasta

How to dye pasta Feature

Today I’m going to tell you how I dye pasta. This is my lazy method and I’m pretty sure that there is a better way to do this. But with this pasta, I’m not worried about the colors rubbing off for what we are going to use it for.

We’re making jewelry over here y’all! The girls like making pasta jewelry but first MOMMA have to color our pasta. (They want to play but not aid in making it happen) Here’s a quick batch, it drys pretty fast too. (We’ve done it before)

I used:

  • Food coloring
  • Pasta
  • Zipper baggies

What I did:

  1. Added a cup of pasta per baggie
  2. Added 5 drops of food coloring
  3. Let the kids mix while I started breakfast

That’s it. I would say I took it out the bag and laid it to dry, but that’s not true. I forgot about the pasta after breakfast and didn’t remember it until the next day.

I had Baby G stringing the pasta on a piece of spaghetti, she’s pretty good at it. After that we moved on to strings. That was a little tuff for her. (Tip:You can use tape, glue or wax on the ends of  the string to make them a little more stiff. Thus making it easier for your toddler to string or lace/thread)
